Everything Changed.

I boarded the plane having no idea what to expect. I had been hired to shoot a music and dance festival in West Virginia and was looking forward to catching up on some reading during the long flight from California. As the festival got underway, I wandered around trying to capture the feel of the event...things were going well.

It was the afternoon of September 25th, 2004, and I stood in a dance hall at the Fayetteville County Park. Music filled the room as dancers swirled and swayed. At 1:18 P.M. I glanced to my left, and for the first time in my life, I gazed upon a woman and a little girl who would change my life forever. Fortunately, I captured the moment...this is when it all began. my first glance

Three days later, as the festival ended I approached her. She was a dancer, who had appeared in far too many of my photos. Like a constant gift, whenever I needed a great shot, she would appear.

She said her name was Hannah. We chatted for a few minutes before I got her email address. I told her I'd send her some of her photos when I returned to San Diego. She smiled and we parted.

The pictures were sent...along with some kind words. She responded in kind and we began communicating via phone and email. Last week I flew her out for a visit and by the time it was over I was a married man.

Just when you least expect it everything changes. I'm an eternal bachelor. For 39 years I've remained unmarried, no kids, no pets. In an instant that all changed. Today, I'm a new husband and step father. I can't tell you how perfect this woman is for me. A luckier man does not exist.
